Tucked in the expanses of the malaria-free Pilanesberg National Park, Bakubung, or the People of the Hippo, provides guests with the peace and tranquilty of a true bush experience coupled with the luxury and service you’ve come to expect from a Legacy bush lodge.

The 76 air-conditioned, thatched roof, studio rooms and 66 chalets curve into a horse-shoe around the outside entertainment areas, huddling visitors in cosy intimacy. All rooms have DStv, direct dialling phones, en-suite bathrooms, electric shaving plugs, coffee/tea making machines and a hair dryer as well as wall-to-wall carpeting.
For a wedding ceremony we require that the entire hotel be booked for your guests (76 hotel rooms). This is on a Dinner Bed and Breakfast basis. The dinners and breakfasts consist of delicious buffet’s served in the restaurant with a variety of food to choose from. Please be advised that we require a 2-night stay on a weekend – Friday & Saturday nights.
The conference venue can accommodate a maximum of 70 guests with a small dance floor. With a buffet set up outside the venue. |

Should you wish to hire in music and a dance floor at your own expense you are more than welcome to do so. Please be advised that as per Parks Board regulations, the music cut off time is at 23h00.
Alternatively the ceremony can be held at our Boma. We will then serve a buffet meal only but no plated menu. Should music be required, we will first have to get permission from the Northwest Parks Board to have a generator, as there is no electricity at our Boma. Alternatively we can get you a quote on a Tribal Choir should you opt for one.
Please be advised that we do not have a Chapel, but we can obtain a quote for a Gazebo at an additional cost. Flowers can also be arranged for your account. We look forward to welcoming your group to our beautiful game lodge to share in your special day. |
